The Chinatalk newsletter has an interesting perspective on Black Myth's success, noting it's got a lot to do with Chinese gamers pushing back against the local industry's tendency to fleece its players.
China is such a fascinating market! I think they will become a huge actor in console gaming over the next few years. They've been doing really well in the mobile gaming space for years now despite their local market restrictions and with a lot of games exporting well abroad. They seem to also produce a lot of RPG type games on Mobile which are easier to adapt to console than more casual titles.
Black Myth: Wukon looks pretty cool. I'm curious to see what comes next.
2 million PS5s in China is a revelation to me. I was under the impression there were almost no consoles.
Agreed!

Interesting! Will check it out

I learned a lot researching this and barely scratched the surface. Will be something to keep an eye on!
